Software Assurance Engineer

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Software Assurance Engineer candidate will be responsible for evaluating application security in all phases of the application life cycle. The candidate shall ensure that appropriate and effective secure coding techniques and solutions are identified, implemented, and used.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advice and guidance on how to remediate security vulnerabilities in a variety of programming languages
• Support the planning and execution of the application security testing and evaluation programs

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge of Fortify Code Scan Analyzer
• Must be able to update security content, scan complex projects, analyze scan results using the issues panel, set filters and filter sets, view suppressed, removed and hidden issues.
• Hands-on experience evaluating the security of applications using both manual and automated techniques. Relevant tool experience should include code security scanners such as Fortify SSC.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NA

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• BS degree in a technical degree at least 10 years of experience
• Secret Security Required (Secret or Top Secret)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee will likely be placed in an office. The work environment characteristics are representative of those of an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
